Television Academy: Social Media Marketing Campaigns

Television Academy Social Campaigns

ABOUT

As a Marketing Intern at the Television Academy in Los Angeles, I was tasked with assisting the marketing department in designing, producing and sourcing materials for the campaigns that they were running on their social media channels in advance of the 2022 Emmys ceremony. I mainly used Premiere Pro, Illustrator and Canva to create the final products.

A CLOSER LOOK CAMPAIGN

As the Emmy nominations were rolling out, the Television Academy was sharing highlights from a variety of shows’ “For Your Consideration” events on Instagram Reels. The marketing team was able to interview a handful of actors, producers and others who worked on each show. I was tasked with reviewing the clips and transcribing each interviewee’s answers for closed captions. I then selected some of the most compelling answers to include in each short video as well as the funniest or most interesting moment I could find to feature at the beginning, editing in Premiere Pro. Lastly, I used an Illustrator template to create a cover image for when the post is shared online. Click a photo to watch the videos!

INTERACTIVE TRIVIA STORIES

I was also tasked with creating a template that could be used to share trivia questions on the account’s Instagram stories. I used Canva to make a template that was easily editable to ask new questions with different images every week.

INSTAGRAM POSTS

I also collaborated with the marketing team to brainstorm different kinds of posts that could relate to the upcoming Emmys and also engage followers with info from past ceremonies. As the nominations were coming out, I searched Twitter to see how actors/producers were reacting to being nominated. I also browsed through the Academy’s photo archive to find the best examples of fashion from older red carpets to be shared in a throwback post.

CEREMONIAL POSTS

Similarly, I also browsed the digital archives to find clips pertinent to Norman Lear as his 100th birthday was approaching that summer. I found videos of many actors talking about him and compiled the best ones to be edited into a commemorative post.
